A BUS operator has issued a statement after a crash on the railway bridge on Milverton Road.

The Buses of Somerset service, run by First South West, was involved in an incident on the railway bridge in Tonedale on Monday, October 7.

The crash occurred as an oncoming vehicle appeared to force the bus to the side of the bridge and hitting the wall. While debris was left scattered on the road, nobody was injured.

A spokesperson for Buses of Somerset said “One of our buses was involved in an incident on the bridge on Milverton Road, when it was forced to the side of the railway bridge by an oncoming vehicle.

“There were no reported injuries from the customers on board at the time or members of the public. The safety and well-being of our customers, drivers and the public is our number one priority, and we are conducting a full investigation into the incident.”
