POLICE are on the hunt for a driver who fled the scene of a head-on collision which left a woman injured.
At around 11.25 am on Monday morning, August 21, a silver car collided with a Toyota minivan on the corner of Milverton Road, near Burchills Hill.
When officers arrived on the scene they found the female driver of the minivan had sustained an injury to her arm, and a male who had been driving the silver car had fled on foot.
Police are now appealing to the public to help them identify the man.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "Officers attended the incident and found one of the drivers at the scene who had sustained an injury to her arm.
"They were told the other driver had left the area on foot after the collision and enquiries are being carried out to identify him.
"We would please ask any witnesses to call 101 and provide the call-handler with log number 318 of 21 August."
The collision forced Milverton Road to close, and a queue of traffic which included a number of lorries was forced to turn around in Crosslands.
At around 2.20 pm the road remained close, with a vehicle recovery truck working to clear the highway.
