POLICE are directing traffic around an overturned van in a village on the edge of the Blackdown Hills.

The vehicle was resting on its offside in Ford Street, near Sunnyside Self Catering Cottage and B&B, this afternoon (Wednesday, September 25).

Police have closed the road into Ford Street, for drivers coming from the A38 near Wellington, with vehicles being diverted along Briscoe Lane.

Traffic heading from Hemyock is being carefully directed around the overturned van.

Avon and Somerset Police said in a short statement: “We were called shortly after 1pm to reports that a van had overturned on Ford Street in Wellington.

“Officers attended and remain at the scene while the vehicle is recovered. No injuries were reported.”
