Year 11 students at Wellington School celebrated their prom over the weekend
Year 11 students at Wellington School celebrated their prom over the weekend.
The event was an opportunity to reflect on their many years together, and celebrate ahead of their GCSE exams this summer.
Students arrived in style, wearing suits and ballgowns and travelling to the event in everything from tractors to classic cars.
Non-alcoholic 'mocktails' were served up for students on the school's chapel lawn, before dinner was served and an awards ceremony held.
Categories for the awards included, 'best Dad jokes' and 'most likely to return to Wellington as a teacher'.
A student-run disco was put on which carried on into the evening.
Claire Smith from Wellington School said: "It was a magical evening, a fitting end to Year 11, and one that they will remember for many years to come.
"Now is the time to focus on their GCSEs and plan ahead for the summer. We wish them all the very best of luck for their forthcoming exams."
