WELLINGTON-based artist Kiera Alice Chard has announced the release of her latest single ‘Daisy Chains’ which will raise funds for St Margaret’s Hospice.
Produced by Joe Marsh of Joe Marsh Recording, the song is set to be part of an upcoming album along with the two songs Kiera released in 2023, ‘Virtually Addicted’ and ‘Whenever You’.
Kiera said: “Music has been a part of my life for a long time.
“My dad was the lead singer of well-known Wellington band, Homebrew, along with his brother, sister and originally their father. I grew up going to their rehearsals and performances when they re-formed.
“This is my third song to be released. My debut single 'Virtually Addicted' was released on June 10, on my late father's birthday and my second, ‘Whenever You’, was released on November 24 last year, the anniversary of my father's funeral.
“The profits from ‘Whenever You’ go to St Margarets Hospice, where dad spent his last few days.”
Kiera Alice Chard is a professional actress and has performed internationally on stage and on screen, including in BBC, Netflix and Amazon Prime productions. Last year, the artist performed at Boardmasters Festival in Newquay which she said was a highlight.
With the release of her single, Kiera is now looking forward to sharing the music video for ‘Daisy Chains’ as well as releasing the next record to be included in her upcoming album.
She said: “There is one more song, yet to be released, which was actually the first I recorded, and it has already been featured on BBC Introducing.
“I have had some great feedback already for the release and hope it continues.
“I have become a lot more confident in my songwriting skills and I am not afraid to write something and release it.
“I am still a perfectionist and still do my covers on YouTube and live, but releasing your own music is so much different.”
Kiera will performing at Rockwell Green War Memorial Club on New Year’s Eve and is set to announce further gigs in the run-up to Christmas.
