PEOPLE living in areas surrounding Taunton are invited to a public event which aims to help shape the future of policing.
Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Clare Moody and officers from local neighbourhood policing teams will be on hand to hear peoples’ concerns at the public forum, a series of which are being held in locations across Somerset.
The third forum will be held at Taunton Rugby Football Club, Hyde Lane, on Wednesday, September 11, from 6pm to 7.30pm.
Clare has created the draft plan, based on the demand issues for Avon and Somerset Police and what people have told her their priorities are, while she was campaigning on doorsteps and talking to local people in the run up to her election in May.
She is now asking the public in each of the five local authority areas in Somerset for ideas on how the police, communities and partners can work together to deliver against her Police and Crime Plan draft priorities.
The forums are part of a wider public consultation, which launched on 21 August, and also includes a survey to allow those who are unable to attend to share their ideas and suggestions.
The forum provides an opportunity to:
Help shape how policing is delivered in your area
Share your ideas on what would work in your community
Find out more about the consultation on your council tax and police funding
