A LOCAL PCSO was one of the first on the scene of a road accident in which two young Romanians died, members of Wellington Town Council were told at their monthly meeting on Monday.
Nicu Manea, 23, and Alex Pintea, 20, died when their car collided with another vehicle towards the end of last month.
A police report to the council stated: “A serious RTC occurred on the A38 between the Beambridge Inn and Whiteball. PCSO Simon Bramley was on his way home following a late shift when he came across the accident. This involved a two-vehicle head-on collision. PCSO Bramley managed to get one of the males out of the vehicle and commenced CPR until the arrival of ambulance and other police units.
“The second male in the vehicle was trapped and had to be cut out by firemen. Unfortunately both males in the vehicle died at the scene. The female driver of the other vehicle was only slightly injured.”
