YES, the two new lights in Cubbits Place, the lane leading to Clifford Terrace in Wellington, are finally up and running.

The lights were installed early in November, but they were not connected to the grid until workmen moved in last week.

The lane only had one light and when this went out at night it became very dangerous for pedestrians, especially as there is a pole in the middle of it which could cause you serious harm especially if you were on a bike. Those living nearby would know about the pole but anyone not aware could hurt themselves.

With all three lights now working, there is no fear of this. It means a safe short-cut from the town centre to various streets beyond Clifford Terrace.

It also means you can see two full dog bags on a wall which have been there for about two months!
