THE ‘exceptional bonds with staff and extremely high levels of independence between children’ have been highlighted in an outstanding Ofsted report for a Wellington nursery.
Bouncy Bear Childcare has been given a top ‘Outstanding’ rating from government department Ofsted, which was published this week.
The report praises the way in which staff teach and build ‘exceptional bonds with the children’.
The report highlights the level of learning and participation in activities stating ‘children develop a love of books, stories and rhymes and join in enthusiastically.’
It mentioned ‘the management team are passionate about the services it provides’ and ‘the team has a strong vision to support children to be happy, confident and ready to tackle their next steps in education.’
Nursery manager, Lisa Lee-Mckenna said: “I am extremely proud, not only to achieve an Outstanding rating but to also read such a wonderful praising report. The team has worked extremely hard implementing our inspiring curriculum, they have supported every child who attends Bouncy Bear, to make exceptional progress whilst feeling happy, valued and nurtured in order to reach their full potential in becoming strong and motivated learners for life, enabling their future success.”
Staff were praised for the ‘skilful support given to children to build on what they know and are interested in.’ Along with ‘an impressive and well designed curriculum in place which was created working in collaboration with parents, teachers and staff.’
Ofsted praised the strong partnership with parents and staff as ‘absolutely wonderful’.
It also noted that the children participated in community events such as puppet shows and took part in the Queens Platinum Jubilee celebrations whilst also visiting local nursing homes and visits that stimulate learning.
Since 2004, the nursery, which caters for children aged zero to five, has received two ‘Outstanding’ reports and four ‘Good’ ones.
