SOMERSET Cricket Foundation managing director Jon Bendle became a guest at a community sport champions reception in No 10 Downing Street at the invitation of local MP Rebecca Pow.

The foundation runs a wide range of programmes and initiatives delivered through a network of clubs, schools, and communities with the aim of positively impacting the lives of all people in Somerset through cricket.

Ms Pow said: “I was absolutely delighted to invite Jon Bendle to the community sport champions reception at Number 10.

“The foundation does really positive work using the power of cricket to make a difference to people’s lives locally, whether it is working with dementia groups, walking cricket for the elderly, and a wide range of children’s activities.”

The reception was hosted by the Government’s Culture, Media, and Sport Secretary Lucy Frazer.

Ms Frazer said: “Sport is for everybody.

“It enriches our communities and improves lives right across the country.

“Jon Bendle is a dedicated champion of community sport in Taunton Deane, and it was a real pleasure to celebrate their work alongside Rebecca Pow.”
