More snow is forecast for West Somerset this week as the region stays in the grip of freezing temperatures.

Wintry showers over the weekend blocked roads on the high land on Exmoor and saw a covering on lower ground including at Wellington.

Temperatures will drop below zero overnight through the week across the area, before the weather warms up at the weekend.

The Met Office forecasts snow showers across West Somerset on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

It warns of frost, ice and freezing fog, with sunny spells and temperatures dropping to a minimum minus 4 degrees C.

Highways teams and farm contractors were out over the weekend clearing snow from roads across Exmoor.

Travel Somerset said the wintry showers overnight and through Saturday covered routes on high ground across the moor, including Wheddon Cross to Elworthy Cross, Wheddon Cross to Simonsbath, Exford, and Porlock Hill to the Devon border.
