A FORMER managing director of a Wellington business popped in to visit the firm again during a 920-mile charity cycle ride.
Carl Bullock, who is now a non-executive director of MK Test Systems, based on the Westpark business park, Chelston, was cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End.
He was in a group of seven cyclists taking part in the challenge to raise money for Parkinson’s UK.
They were welcomed by the MK Test team, who provided food and a resting point before they continued on their way to Cornwall.
Mr Bullock told them: “I am really enjoying the challenge but not sure I would repeat it.
“It was lovely to be greeted by everyone outside MK Test Systems, it has been a real boost.
“We have had some tough weather and several punctures to contend with, but are on track and in good spirits.”
The ride took 10 days to complete and Mr Bullock has raised more than £2,300 with his efforts.
He said: “It was a great physical challenge, but more importantly I will be raising money for Parkinson’s UK.
“This cause is very important to my family, as unfortunately we have seen the effects of this disease first-hand on family members and friends.”
A Parkinson’s UK spokesperson said: “Anybody can get Parkinson’s.
“It gets worse over time and there is no cure. Yet.
“Funding research into the most promising treatments, we are getting closer to a cure.
“Until then, we are improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives.
“Together we will find a cure.”
