A COMMUNITY drop-in session is to be held in Milverton for residents to discuss the flash-flood which hit homes and businesses in the village last month.
It will be one of four sessions organised by Somerset Council, the others taking place in communities in the Wincanton area which saw the worst of the flooding which hit the county.
The drop-in events start this week, and although the Milverton session is due to be held in the Victoria Rooms, Fore Street, the council has not yet set a date or time for it.
People will be able to share their experiences as well as obtain help and advice from the council, the Environment Agency, and other organisations which have continued to support residents and businesses, including insurers, parish councils, and village agents
Council staff will attend from several different departments, including highways, housing, civil contingencies, flood management, housing, and business support.
Environment and climate change portfolio holder Cllr Sarah Dyke said: “I encourage any households or business to come along and share their experiences with us, as well as raising any concerns.
“Our aim is to better understand the issues from the communities affected so that we can investigate possible protective and preventative measures to support extreme weather resilience in Somerset.
“Your feedback is vitally important as it will help improve support to others impacted by flooding.
“We look forward to seeing you.”
