Mayor launches school Civic Award

Mayor of Wellington Mark Lithgow and clerk to the town council Dave Farrow went to Beech Grove Primary School to launch the Civic Award with Year 6.

The project supports pupils in developing personal skills, taking part in school responsibilities and researching and assisting projects locally and in the wider community.

Over the school year, opportunities for the town council and Year 6 to work together will be programmed to support pupils in completing their portfolios ready for the end-of-year presentation.
