LONG delays are expected on stretches of the M5 today as holidaymakers are expected to descend on the Westcountry (Friday, May 10).
Tailbacks are commonplace on Friday afternoons at this time of the year, with hundreds of drivers expected to make the journey south to some of their favourite weekend destinations in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.
Traffic is expected to build throughout the day, on both the south and northbound carriageways, with pinch-points expected on stretches past Bristol, Weston-super-Mare and Taunton.
No traffic incidents have yet been reported and the M5 is currently running smoothly.
