TWO fire engines were mobilised after a log store went up in flames in Churchstanton.
Crews from Taunton and Ilminster raced to the incident in a back garden, where they discovered a log store “well alight” on the morning of Monday, June 10.
The six-by-two metre storage unit was completely destroyed in the blaze, which fire fighters attempted to tackle with a hose reel jet and drag forks.
The fire brigade determined the fire started as the result of an accident.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said in a statement: “Fire control received a call to a log store on fire in the area of Churchstanton. Control mobilised two fire engines from Taunton and Ilminster.
“Once on scene, crews confirmed the wood store in a private garden was well alight so crews were using one hose reel jet and drag forks to extinguish the fire.
“The wood store was completely destroyed. This was confirmed as accidental ignition.”
