The M5 has been closed between Wellington and Taunton in both directions due to a collision between two vehicles and a pedestrian.
Police were called at around 8am on Wednesday, December 28, and the motorway was closed while emergency services attended the incident.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called at around 8am today (Wednesday 28 December) following a serious collision involving a pedestrian and two vehicles.
“The M5 has been closed in both directions from junction 25 (Taunton) to junction 26 (Wellington) while emergency services attend the scene.”
A diversion has been put in place via the A38.
