BUDDING secret agents from Beech Grove Primary School in Wellington enjoyed a fantastic two-day Spy Academy at the St Briavel’s Youth Hostel in the Wye Valley.
The pupils were ‘scanned’ on arrival and then had to choose their ‘spy name’ using an adjective or colour for their first name and an animal for a surname.
This proved to be entertaining, pupils ending up with names like Lime Cheetah, Jagged Jaguar, Indigo Mouse and Sapphire Penguin.
Lots of inventive team games were played by half the group while the rest learnt the skills of archery.
The children also enjoyed den-building, inventing spy gadgets, code-breaking and observation tests.
All of the group were presented with graduation certificates and a copy of ‘Stormbreaker’ by author Antony Horowitz – part of his Alex Rider series based on a fictional teenage spy.
