Wellington trade is set to get a fresh boost with the opening of a new store in the town.
Lumination, a specialist lighting company, have opened their third branch in Ryelands Business Park, in Rockwell Green.
The firm opened their first store in Taunton 30 years ago, followed by a second in Cirecenster a decade later - and have now set up shop in Wellington parish.
Owned by husband and wife pair Gordon and Nina Gurr, the new 'outlet' store will offer retail, manufacturing and design services.
The business park had previously been the site of the firm's warehouse, which is now joined by the new store. This proximity, Mr Gurr said, will mean products at Lumination Wellington are able to be sold at a 20 per cent discount.
Speaking to the Wellington Weekly he said: "We run our design services from our Wellington branch, which means we look at new-build properties and design all the lighting, typically dealing with properties which have recently secured planning permission.
"Our other speciality is that we manufacture lighting for customers. We have a highly skilled team who offer a bespoke service, specialising in tailor made lighting solutions for high spaces.
"We also import lighting from China, where I used to work for 15 years. That connection means we can provide excellent value for money to our customers. Our new Wellington branch is an outlet store, meaning we can give an automatic 20 per cent discount on our goods."
The store marked its official opening on Monday, November 6, but in its early days will operate a limited opening schedule of Wednesdays to Saturdays, 9 am until 5 pm.
Gordon invited residents to come and visit the new shop, saying the location was "Convenient, traffic-free and good value."
The store can be found at Ryelands Business Park, on Bagley Road.
