Wiveliscombe turned out in 'huge numbers' for the town's 107th annual flower show.
Held on Saturday, August 19, the long-running event enjoyed a bumper year, with its flower contest, welly wanging and assortment of other activities filling out the recreation ground.
Chairperson of the Wivey Show, Kirsty Boutflower said: "We were taken aback by just how many people arrived to enjoy the show. It is a lovely reward for all the hard work put in over the last year by the committee and hopefully we will start to raise a decent amount of money to give back to the community which has been the aim all along.
"Once again, we are indebted to Jon and Millie from the Bear for their sponsorship in providing the two large marquees and without whom, the Show just wouldn’t happen on this scale.”
Show president Bernadette Row bagged the 'best in show' prize for her Victoria spongecake - after former Waitrose food guru and show judge William Sitwell declared it 'one of the very best he had ever eaten.'
The show also featured an array of stalls and stands, who are said to have done good trade, in addition to to the Town Band, a bouncy castle and a Punch and Judy Show which drew an eager crowd of children.
Kirsty said: “We are all quite overwhelmed with how well it has gone this year and I would like to thank absolutely everyone involved, including sponsors, judges, helpers and an incredible committee team behind the scenes.
"We are committed to making this show a memorable occasion every year and hope to continue to build for the future”
