HISTORIC Halsway Manor at the foot of the Quantock Hills is set to open to the public as part of Heritage Open Days 2018.

Members of the public will be able to visit the Grade II listed manor and access rooms normally closed to the public.

They will be able to learn about the manor’s history from the Domesday Book to the current building’s origins in the 15th Century from newly installed interpretation.

They will also learn about eccentric past residents and its current status as a residential National Centre for Folk Arts.

Families are welcome and special story and activity packs will be available for children. Visitors can also explore six acres of gardens and grounds.

Halsway Manor is on the A358 from Taunton to Williton – look out for the sign to the manor between Crowcombe and Bicknoller.

It is open today (Friday, September 7) and Friday, September 14, as part of Heritage Open Days from 10.30am-3pm.
