Eminent geologist Danny Clark-Lowes is set to give a talk to the Wiveliscombe Civic and Historical Society on February 21.

Wiveliscombe resident, Danny Clark-Lowes has enjoyed a successful career as a geologist after graduating from London and Cambridge universities. He has given industry training courses on geology all around the world. Danny has published a number of papers and books in the field, and leads trips across the Himalayas.

This month Danny will be giving a talk in Wiveliscombe about his new book, "Geology of the Himalaya - an illustrated tour through the mountains."

Pauline Homeshaw, chair of the Civic and Historical society said: "Danny makes geology live, and he can be very amusing. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether they are members of the society or not."

The Wiveliscombe Civic and Historical Society is a group of people interested in planning and conservation matters. The society holds monthly talks of general interest.

Danny Clark-Lowes will be addressing the group on February 21 in the Wiveliscombe Community Centre at 7 30pm. Entry to the event is priced at £3 for non-members, and is free to members.
