A TWO-YEAR-OLD boy who has been fighting a rare form of cancer for much of his young life has been given the all-clear by doctors.
When he was born, Raymond Carr was diagnosed with a tumour of his liver, which can be life threatening.
His parents Bonnie Upham and partner Richard Carr, who live at Plain Pond, Wiveliscombe, have been with him throughout his long ordeal and treatment.
Bonnie said this week: “Ray is doing really well - he is now six months into remission and his recent scan and Xray revealed all is clear. He has started pre-school which he loves.
“He enjoyed his first Halloween as last year we were in Bristol and the year before was Lockdown
“Ray visited his first pumpkin patch just outside of Wellington and picked his own pumpkins with his siblings; he enjoyed being pushed around in the wheelbarrow!
“He is starting to put words together, putting on good weight and he has gone for his first haircut!
“He is enjoying seeing the Christmas lights and decorations around the town.
“This Christmas will be even better than last year as we had to spend last Christmas in Bristol Hospital as he was having four days of chemo which also fell on Christmas Day.
“So, we are really looking forward to being at home as a family and being able to see our friends.”
