THE former Travis Perkins builders merchants on Blackmoor Business Park, behind Waitrose, in Wellington, may soon become a garage carrying out repairs and MOT tests.

The builders merchants closed last year. Locally the business was said to be a victim of Travis Perkins expanding its site at Galmington.

South Street Motors, which already has a garage and parts department in South Street and body repair centre at Chelston Business Park, is planning to move in.

A change of use planning application has been lodged with Somerset West and Taunton Council. The small industrial estate is becoming a centre for the motor trade with two servicing businesses already, a body repair firm and a company specialising in quick fixes of dents and scratches.
