THE funeral will take place next week of well-known Wellington sportsman Roland Bath, who has died, aged 86.
Mr Bath, who lived in Wellington all his life, had battled illness for the past two years and died on January 25.
He played cricket for Bell Green and also played in the local skittles league for many years, and had been manager of Wellington Football Club’s reserve team.
Mr Bath was a member of Wellington Bowling Bowling Club for 40 years, becoming captain and later president.
He worked initially for the former Frank Rowe flower nursery in Rockwell Green and then joined Relyon, where he stayed until his retirement.
Mr Bath’s funeral is in Taunton Deane Crematorium on Monday (February 17) at 10.40 am.
