TWO former Uffculme School pupils have reopened the village’s popular Café No 11, in The Square, after a four-month closure.
Roy and Natalie Keeling have taken on the business following former owner Ian Jarman moving on after seven years last December.
The couple, who live in Uffculme, have a daughter who also goes to school in Uffculme.
Mr Keeling qualified as a chef at Tiverton College 25 years ago and for the past six years has worked for Castle Grove care home, in Bampton.
He said Café No 11’s unique selling point would be ‘home-cooked food’ with only the bread, pasta, and rice bought in.
Among the first visitors were youngsters from the village’s Kingwood Children nursery, who presented Mr and Mrs Keeling with a welcome card, a spider plant which they grew themselves, and some hessian Kingwood bunting.
Mr Keeling admitted running his own business was ‘nerve-wracking and exciting’.
