A ROAD in Wellington has been forced to close after a tree collapsed in high winds.
As of 3 pm on Tuesday afternoon, Ford Street was blocked by a fallen tree, brought down by gales associated with Storm Henk.
Somerset Council also warned that the A358 near Norton Manor Camp was in danger of a tree falling onto it.
In a statement released to social media a spokesperson for the council's travel advice service said: "Storm Henk update: a number of roads are blocked due to falling trees, crews are on their way."
The disruption came after an amber alert for wind was issued across parts of the South West, with the Met Office warning flying debris could pose 'a danger to life.'
