THE team behind the food and drink festival eat:Wellington are looking ahead to a busy year after a successful 2018.

Last year saw them win ten awards from the National Outdoor Events Association; Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards; Somerset Business Awards; including the coveted titles of Best Farmers’ Market at Western Daily Press Food and Farming Awards and Best Food Market in the Great British Market Awards hosted by National Association British Market Authorities.

The team have three events planned for Wellington and Taunton: eat:Wellington on Saturday, September 7, eat:Taunton - celebrating Somerset Day in the county town, on Saturday, May 11; and a new festive festival planned for Christmas time.

Anyone interested in trading at any of these events, or others around the Somerset and Avon areas, can apply at www.eatfetsivals.org/apply

But first up is eat:Vegan on Saturday, January 26, in the Winter Gardens at Weston. Organiser Bev Milner Simonds said: “Visitors should expect more than 60 local and regional food and drink producers along with a host of other free activities.”
