KEEN quizzers are invited to sign up for Rumwell Farm Shop’s first charity quiz and supper evening of the year with proceeds from the event going to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
The multi-award-winning Farm Shop is holding the event from 7pm on Friday, January 31 in aid of its new charity of the year.
Anne Mitchell, partner at Rumwell Farm Shop, which is on the A38 between Taunton and Wellington, said: “Our three quiz and supper evenings last year were a great success and from them we raised hundreds of pounds for our 2024 charity of the year, Mind in Somerset.
“In 2025, we’ve decided, as they are so popular, to host four quizzes, and our new charity of the year, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, will receive proceeds from all of these.
“It’s a fantastic charity that does amazing work in our county and we’re so pleased to be supporting it in 2025.
“So, please join us to exercise your grey cells and blow away the cobwebs after all the Christmas and New Year excesses on January 31 for our first quiz of the year. It promises to be a fun evening.”
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance provides lifesaving, pre-hospital critical care, to patients in need.
Its team of highly skilled pilots, critical care practitioners, nurses, and doctors are operational for 19 hours a day, 365 days a year; together they work tirelessly to save lives in our area.
Charlotte Humber, supporter engagement officer for Somerset from Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, said: “This partnership represents a great opportunity for us to raise invaluable funds while also generating awareness of the lifesaving work that we do.”
During the evening there will also be a fundraising raffle with a selection of prizes from the farm shop and from its suppliers and friends. All the money collected from the raffle will be donated to the charity.
Tickets cost £19.50 per person for a two-course hot supper and include a £1 quiz entry fee. Tables must be booked in advance and online.
