ROSS Henley, the Somerset county councillor for Blackdown and Neroche, which includes Wellington and West Buckland, is continuing his fight against the axeing of the number 20 bus service which links the town and village.
He said: “I spoke at last week’s Somerset County Council cabinet meeting about saving the service.” He said lots of villagers in West Buckland use the bus and it is a ‘lifeline to many’.
“A number of local residents have written t me concerned at the possible loss of the bus service,” he added. “I’m now trying to get Devon County Council to keep its subsidy for the number 20 service, as it starts in Seaton, and I am talking to the bus company to see if it will consider to run the service without the county subsidy.”
