WESTCOUNTRY gin makers will be showcasing the best of the region’s tipple during a tasting evening with live music at a multi-award-winning Rumwell Farm Shop.
The farm shop, on the A38 between Taunton and Wellington, is hosting the Gin & Fizz Night, where attendees can sample different types, in its Rumwell Orchard events space on Friday, October 4 from 6.30pm.
Sophie Mitchell, partner at the Farm Shop, said: “A fabulous collection of our exceptional suppliers have signed up to be on hand to help make this an enjoyable evening for everyone who wishes to come along.
“On arrival guests will be shown to their table where they’ll receive a delicious savoury grazing platter, chosen to help complement the gins and fizz we’ll be sampling during the evening.
“The platter includes herb marinated olives, diced cheeses and a selection of Westcountry sourced charcuterie featuring our own farm wafer thin pork and rare beef, herb infused focaccia, which is homemade by our bakery team.”
“The platter will also include breadsticks and a range of pickled cauliflower, onions and gherkins, as well as lemon, garlic and chive marinated Jack fruit.”
Companies confirmed include Salcombe Gin from Devon, Exmoor Distillery Northmoor Gin, 6’O’Clock Gin from Bristol and Tolchards. Samples are also being provided by Tarquin’s Gin from Cornwall.
Sophie added: “During the evening, and back by popular request after his brilliant set last year, we’ve well-known acoustic guitarist and singer Andy Doran performing live.”
Andy toured nationally with the late comedian, Jethro. He has also played at private parties for King Charles III, when he was Prince Charles.
Tickets are £18.95 per person and must be booked online on the Rumwell Farm Shop website at www.rumwellfarmshop.com/gin-fizz-tasting-evening-friday-october-4/.
