FUN workshops are being held over the next two weekends in Wellington Community Centre for families to explore their creative side and experiment with printing with Lego.
Wellington visual artist Alex Williams is holding the sessions on Saturdays August 3 and 10 from 11 am to 1 pm to share her love of making bright and bold prints, paintings, and even wall murals.
The workshops are suitable for children aged from five years and also for adults, with everybody being able to make and take home lots of prints and also a printed notebook each.
Alex said: “The possibilities are endless, create patterns, pictures, write your name backwards, with Lego pieces.
“Learn how to ink your plate up using a roller and relief printing ink ready for printing using a range of methods.
“There will be inspiration aplenty and lots of support from me.
“All participants will make prints onto paper and will also get to decorate the cover of a notebook with your print design to take home with you.”
A parent can attend for free with each paying child and the workshops will run in small groups of eight people.
Mrs Williams, who is an experienced art and primary school teacher, also delivers a range of art workshops for children and adults.
She said: “I love pattern, ceramics, architecture, and everyday objects, and all of my work is rooted in my sketchbook practice.
“I love working with clients to design something really personal to them.
Among Mrs Williams’ recent work has been a wall mural for the teaching space in Wellington business A House of Cake.
She has also painted the shop windows with illustrations of a ‘secret garden’ at the rear of the High Street cafe.
Lego printing workshop tickets cost £14 and can be booked online here.
