A SPOOF of the well-known Sherlock Holmes detective story will be performed by a local theatre company in the Wellington area this summer.
Chameleon Theatre Company, which was set up during the covid-19 pandemic, has staged three shows so far, which were aimed to entertain the whole family.
And Sherlock’s Excellent Adventure promises to be no exception and the comedy is said to boast humour normally contained in pantomimes.
A spokesman for the theatre group said in a press statement: “This is a spoof of the well-known detective and the comedy has similar humour to that found in pantomime.
“Add in a few silly original songs and this is a perfect family outing.
“With rehearsals and cast members in the Wellington and Taunton area, we have achieved three shows so far, all providing entertainment for the whole family. We look forward to welcoming you to our show.”
The first shows will be held at Sheppy's during the day on Saturday and Sunday June 22-23. Sheppy’s can also provide luxury picnics if contacted in advance but people are welcome to bring their own.
Well behaved dogs are also welcome in the orchard at this time of year. Low-backed chairs or picnic blankets are required.
People are urged to book with with confidence because if the weather takes a turn for the worse, two more shows have been lined up for the following weekend; June 29 at Bishops Lydeard Village Hall from 7pm and June 30 at Oake Village Hall from 3pm.
