THE first of this season’s Music in the Park concerts took place in Wellington Park on Sunday (June 2) with crowds of people attending in the warm, sunny weather.
Organised by Friends of Wellington Park, the season was opened by Wellington Mayor Cllr Janet Lloyd.
It proved to be a huge success with entertainment from vintage singer Miss Ivy Belle followed by former 1960s rock band star Rod Thomas.
A spokesperson for the friends volunteer group said: “Thanks go to all involved with the event and the wonderful audience for their support.”
On June 9, entertainment will be provided by Get Back performing their Beatles tribute act.
The concerts run for the next 12 weeks through the summer until August 25.
