Budding screenplay writers have the chance to attend Somerset Film, who are hosting a storytelling skills workshop being lead by Hollywood screenwriter, Craig Luck.
HIs most recent feature film ‘Finch’ was released by Apple TV in 2021. A film he first wrote the original script for during university as a short film.
With the projected £100,000 budget too high to attract funding as a short, he rewrote it as a feature-length project, eventually co-writing the script with Ivor Powell (Associate Producer on Blade Runner).
Miguel Sapochnik was hired as a director who sent the script to Robert Zemeckis which led to Steven Spielberg and the casting of Tom Hanks as Finch.
Craig developed his filmmaking skills as a young student at Somerset Film and is now one of our Trustees. He returned to live in the West Country to continue writing and developing his filmmaking career.
During the day, selected short films will be screened to understand the form of a short screenplay.
This writing skills workshop will take place at The Engine Room in Bridgwater on Tuesday 20 from 10.00 - 16.00. The cost for the day is £70 and includes lunch.
