WHAT’S been described as one of the South West’s events of the year is set to be held at Holcombe Court on Saturday, July 13.
Holcombe Rogus Village Fete, just over the border into Devon, will return this summer and the owner of the grounds, Nigel Wiggins, said they have never looked better.
A visitor to the event last year said: “People who have never been to this are really missing something. We come every year.”
What makes the event so special is the priceless setting; the lawns of what is considered to be one of the South West's finest manor houses which is rarely open to the public.
Proud owner Mr Wiggins has paid tribute to the efforts of his gardeners and grounds-people.
"The fete has never been better too," adds organiser John McIlwain. "This year we have two bands, our usual 'residents' the Tiverton Town band plus Wasp in the Apple a delightful folk instrumental ensemble who charmed everyone who heard them last year."
The event will also see the return of the Bollygals belly dancers, as well as teas and other refreshments, stalls and entertainment for children and their families.
