THE South West Baroque Orchestra will give a second public concert in the Culm Valley in December when it performs in Culmstock Village Hall, which is also its base for monthly rehearsals.
The period instrument orchestra, which will mark its third anniversary in January, performed in the village for the first time shortly before last Christmas.
This year’s concert on December 7 is directed by Michael Williamson and Jacqui Robertson-Wade and will feature soprano Catherine Bass and baritone Jesse Giulani.
They will perform traditional carols and Christmas music by Scarlatti, Charpentier, Pez, Telemann, and Vivaldi.
Admission is free and will include tea and mince pies, with a retiring collection.
Among the instruments played by orchestra members are strings, recorders, theorbo, and the harpsichord.
