SPITFIRE pilot Matt Jones is to give a talk on the Blackdown Hills about what was dubbed ‘the most challenging expedition ever attempted in a single-engined World War Two era aircraft’.
Matt was chief pilot in a team which in 2019 flew a silver Spitfire around the world, visiting 24 countries in a 22,130 nautical miles journey.
The adventure took in some of the most famous landmarks in the world, from the Grand Canyon in the West to Mount Fuji in the East.
Now, Matt is to present an illustrated talk on the feat at Dunkeswell Airfield on Tuesday, May 21, at 7pm.
Dunkeswell has also become a Westcountry home to visiting Spitfires.com aircraft offering flight experiences.
