To celebrate the National day of arts in care homes, a local Arts & Crafts company Creative Mojo Mid Devon & West Somerset is sharing artwork made by residents.
Creative Mojo Mid Devon & West Somerset is an arts & crafts company who tailor their sessions for those with Dementia, learning disabilities, autism, and physical disability.
Colette Neave, owner of Mojo Mid Devon & West Somerset said: “I work in a number of care homes, day centres and in the supported living sector. We run different seasonal projects and often take part in exhibitions and national competitions.”
Participating in the National activity providers association National Day of Arts in Care Homes, Colette took the theme of ‘inspired by’ and encouraged her students to create works of art inspired by some famous artists.
“Our sessions enhance wellbeing for residents, giving them the opportunity to practice mindfulness and promote relaxation. As our work is collaborative, it brings residents together and gives not only an individual sense of achievement but also one that is shared with all.” Colette added.
