TWENTY-three-year-old Brooke Hunt is set to open her 'dream' ear wax removal clinic in the heart of Wellington.
Born and raised in Wellington, Brooke is set to open shop in the town at 6 Lancer Court.
After it was left empty when Somerset Mobility and Stairlifts vacated it and moved next door last month, Brooke spotted the ‘perfect’ opportunity.
Brooke has been in the industry for more than five years, training with Boots before beginning her own mobile service in October last year.
Now she is hoping to have her own business up and running by the end of August.

She said: “I have been mobile since October and my goal has aways been to have a clinic as well as mobile, but it’s never been the right time, but now we’re going for it, it seems like the perfect opportunity.
“My husband Alex is very much building the shop for me he is very involved and will hopefully one day do it with me."
At aged 18, when Brooke first applied for an earwax removal job at Boots, she thought the job would be ‘gross’ – but quickly fell in love with the role and found great enjoyment in helping people.
After having a baby and taking maternity leave, Brooke returned to her job at Boots to find they no longer provided the earwax removal service.
But, passionate about her work, Brooke decided to set up her own mobile business.

She said: “I have done ear care for over five years, I used to work for Boots and then nearly two years ago I had a baby and when I returned to the company after my maternity leave they no longer did earwax removal, but it was always something I wanted to do.
“It’s my dream job, I love helping people with their ears and hearing care – it’s something that I am good at.
"Although it might sound strange, doing ear wax removal it is such a common problem and it’s very in demand, doctors don’t do it anymore but people still need it.
“When I first applied for the job when I was 18 I thought there was no way I could do it, that it would be gross, but I did it and I don’t see it like that at all anymore, it’s very normal and it’s one of those things you can’t do yourself.”

Telling of her love of the job Brooke said she finds the work a rewarding experience – and encouraged anyone with concerns about their hearing to visit her new clinic.
She said: “I have seen and heard horror stories of people attempting to remove earwax themselves, so I like the difference that I can make when people can hear better, I love it, it’s so rewarding.
"I love the detail of the ear, I find it fascinating and enjoy making improvements to people’s hearing.
“I provide an ear and hearing health service, earwax removal, hearing screening tests, ear health checks, so if there is anything you’re unsure of I can have a check and show you.”
