A TALENTED Bridgwater & Taunton College (BTC) Design Academy student has won a competition to design a logo for the Wellington to Taunton Cycle Path Campaign.
The Wellington to Taunton Cycle Path Campaign hopes to implement a segregated cycle path alongside the A38 between Wellington and Taunton to enable easier and safer commuting by bike on the route.
The organisers gave the Design Academy students a brief asking for a distinctive graphic suitable for a range of formats, including websites, social media, letter heads, t-shirts and signs.
The winning design was by Dawid Zuromski, 18, of Taunton, who is completing an Extended Diploma in Art & Design at BTC’s Taunton campus.
Dawid said: “I used Adobe software, Photoshop and Illustrator to create the idea.
“I wanted to use the map to give it a location, then found a way of using the monuments from Wellington to Taunton to feature in the wheels, so there was a strong visual connection.
“I enjoy working digitally to create artwork on my course, and hope these skills will help me get a job as a graphic designer.
“I’m very pleased that my design was chosen.
“It’s great to have something in my portfolio that has been seen by lots of people as part of a campaign.”
