PEOPLE on foot in Uffculme are being advised to steer clear of giant hogweed - dubbed Britain’s most dangerous plant - growing in the village.
One example of the plant, which causes unpleasant burns if touched, is growing on Chapel Hill, next to a path used by children and teachers to get to Uffculme School.
Devon County Council has been told about the plant, which is about 8ft tall, and it is hoped it can be removed before the start of next term. Other examples can be seen in verges and fields around the village.
