CYCLISTS from law firm Porter Dodson have raised more than £5,000 for the RNLI after setting off from the company’s Wellington office and cycling almost 200km around Somerset and Dorset.
The riders cycled between the firm’s offices taking in Bridport, Poundbury, Dorchester, Sturminster Newton, Sherborne, Yeovil and Taunton.
The team of 11 riders, ranging in age from 27 to 60, were led by experienced cyclists Stephen Wray and Phil Stocker, both of whom have completed the Land’s End to John O’ Groats route.
Eight of the riders had never completed more than half of the planned distance in a day before they started training.
Riders will be visiting the RNLI College in Poole in November for a tour of the college and cheque presentation.
For anyone wishing to donate, the team’s fundraising page is open until the end of the year and can be accessed via Porter Dodson’s website.
