SAFETY works being carried out on a 'dangerous' stretch of the A38 near Wellington have been held up by heavy rain.
Nine people have died over a 20-year-period between White Ball Hill through Perry Elm to the Wellington Relief Road.
Somerset Council set out to lower the speed limit on the stretch to 50 mph and adjust the junction leading from Holywell Lake Lane to the A38, among other measures.
But the authority has blamed bad weather for a delay to the works, with some road closures now set to extend until Tuesday, November 14.
On Monday, November 13, and Tuesday, November 14, Sampford Arundel Road and Greenham Road will be closed.
