Families and friends were in awe of the children at St John’s Church of England Primary school, Wellington, as they performed their Christmas play ‘The Hoity Toity Angel’.
The performance is the nativity story with a rather bossy angel who soon learns to show compassion and love to all as she learns about the birth of baby Jesus.
The school said the children had worked so hard this half term, with the support of staff and families, learning lines and songs, and it all came together this week as they performed in front of the school, and then to friends and families.
"Congratulations to the Year 1 and Year 2 teams for the fantastic production this week of 'The Hoity Toity Angel.' It was a pleasure watching it yesterday - I was delighted to see the children perform with such confidence and enthusiasm. The families thoroughly enjoyed the show and I appreciate the effort put into making this happen. “Well done to everybody involved in the performance”, Mr Priestley the headteacher of St John’s said.
“Watching the KS1 performance is definitely the best way to start the Christmas festivities, and fills everyone with Christmas cheer,” he said.
