Cheques totalling £560 have been handed to organisations and individuals who collected money at last September's Wellington Carnival.
At a reception in the Scout Hall on Sunday, chairman of the carnival committee thanked the recipients for their efforts - and extended his gratitude to all those who saw in the parade's return after a three year hiatus.
Cheques went out to Wellington RFC Minis and Juniors, the Wellington Majorettes, the Somerset Red Arrow Majorettes and Sophie Webber (collecting for Young Lives vs Cancer).
The Wellington Pantomime Group, Beech Grove Primary School and Vogue Twirlers were unable to attend.
On Friday the committee hosted an Easter bingo at the Rugby Club to raise funds. Around 150 people attended the event, with £1,500 raised toward the carnival.
The committee are still looking for more helpers and continue to seek sponsorship from businesses. To find out more about sponsorship, contact Andy Thorne on 07555 117 249.
