POLICE and Crime Commissioner Mark Shelford has published his draft Police and Crime Plan and is calling on local people, partners and stakeholders to give feedback on it.

The PCC and Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) ran a consultation process for 12 weeks, asking residents and communities to complete an online or postal survey. The OPCC received over 4,100 responses, which helped shape the Police and Crime Plan for the force area. 

Mr Shelford is now encouraging local people to give further feedback on the statutory document before the final version is published. Feedback – positive or negative – can be emailed to [email protected]. The draft Police and Crime Plan will be available to view on the OPCC website until Monday,November 8. 

Mr Shelford said: “I want to say, once again, thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the Police and Crime Survey. Before we publish the final version of the Police and Crime Plan, which will include various aspects about policing of the area, I want to hear feedback from local people, partners, charities and stakeholders on this draft version.

“As the PCC, I am the bridge between local people and the police, and I want to ensure that communities feel that this Police and Crime Plan outlines how the force will efficiently and effectively tackle issues that matter most to them. 

“This is another opportunity for people to raise their views, thoughts and concerns about policing inur villages, towns and cities.”

One of the PCC’s statutory duties is to issue a Police and Crime Plan for the force area. This plan will include various aspects about policing of the area, how the Chief Constable will be held to account and how the PCC will use the money to deliver an effective and efficient police service and support other services such as victim support.
