Wellington fire fighters had a busy month in July after being alerted on 40 occasions, an increase on June with saw 30 call outs.

All 40 of the alerts arrived in the first two weeks of the month, which saw crews attend 17 fires, including a car fire on the M5.

So far this year the station has been called out 227 times.
