A NEW round of funding for projects which benefit people living in the parish of Oake, near Wellington, has been opened by the Somerset Community Foundation (SCF).
The Oake Sunshine Fund awards grants of up to £2,000 to groups working in Oake and also the nearby hamlets of Heathfield, Hillcommon, and Hillfarrance.
It is open to community and voluntary organisations, registered charities, and social enterprises.
The money comes from the developers of the parish’s 26-acre New Rendy Solar Farm, which recently had its planning permission extended to 2054.
The Somerset Community Foundation administers the fund and makes grants in consultation with Oake Parish Council.
The deadline for applications in the current funding round is October 7 and decisions will be taken by the end of November.
