FIRE fighters from Wellington were called to a blaze at Foxmoor Business Park in West Buckland on Wednesday, May 22.

Two fire engines from Wellington were joined by colleagues from Taunton after a fire broke out on the commercial site.

An external extraction fan had caught fire but did not spread to the main building, thanks to the work of crews who climbed extended ladders and used hoses to put out the flames.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said in statement: “Appliances from Wellington and Taunton fire stations were dispatched at 2.44pm this afternoon after reports of a fire at a commercial unit at Foxmoor Business Park, West Buckland, Wellington.

“The fire was limited to an extraction fan on an external unit and had not spread to the main building. The fire was extinguished by crews using two hose reel jets, breathing apparatus, thermal imaging cameras and two triple extension ladders.”
